We at Project HOTSHOTS aim to serve as a conduit for those who wish to share, aid and teach (as well as learn from) the children and young adults of the world, especially those most in need of what many others take for granted every day. We strive to sow the seeds of friendship among the youth of the world using modern communications technology and something just about every child loves: sports. To us, a sport is any activity that helps a child feel important and teaches persistence, teamwork, and good mental and physical health. We seek to make the sports experience safe, fun and educational for children anywhere and everywhere in the world. We believe that participation in athletics is crucial in developing strong character and good health. We believe that involvement in sports is an excellent deterrent to mischief and crime.
We are committed to bringing Music, Art, School and Sports to needy children and teens All Over The World. Literacy, music education and appreciation, artistic expression and knowledge, and schooling in a proper learning environment with the right tools are all essential parts of our mission. We will never endorse a particular candidate or political party, we will never try to convert any person or group of persons to any religion and only consider a recipient country’s policies when it becomes a matter of safety, practicality or what we (as a board) consider inappropriate. We are very aware that the children of many “hostile” countries and regimes are most often victims themselves. We will never deny the children of these countries unless it is as described above. Our members will request /decide to whom we send sports equipment, school supplies, instruments etc. Many times, a member will have a personal connection to a particular city, school, organization or family who is need of help. The board of directors will NOT accept a salary, stipend or use any monies collected for Project HOTSHOTS for personal use. All meetings will take place under very modest conditions. We will also accept personal donations, and donations from people throughout the world who wish to use us as a conduit to helping the poor.
We are in the process of establishing relationships all over the world with people and organizations that will accept our deliverables and see that it gets distributed correctly. We will be diligent about verification of receipt and request proof.

From Jose & Susan Feliciano: |
|
Since my husband, Jose, and I have become involved with Project HOTSHOTS, we have learned of some of the fine work that the organization has accomplished. It seems like a rather simple concept and could very easily have been overlooked by less astute individuals who don't consider the basic fact that when a child goes to school, the self-esteem of feeling prepared can make all the difference in their otherwise dismal world. Imagine! To have a new, clean, intact backpack on your shoulder, filled with sharpened pencils and new crayons all in their box and pens that work! Now these children feel as though they are ready to learn; to meet the challenge of their day, prepared with the basic tools that so many of us take for granted. Don't you feel spiffy when you walk out the door in a new pair of shoes? Providing they don't kill your feet, you feel like you can take on the world! Or, better yet, when you first sit behind the wheel of your new car? You think, "Well, look at me!" It's the same thing for these children who live with so little material goods in their lives -- something like a new backpack for school is a tremendous gift and an asset to their future. I personally want to thank the people at Project HOTSHOTS who not only saw the need but envisioned the opportunity and have made "life" a better place for so many young people in our world! The Feliciano Family
---------------------------------- note: The Felicianos have been extremely generous, enthusiastic and supportive of the work we do. Jose Feliciano has recently performed for the Pope and the President... and his song "Feliz Navidad" was recently inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. |
